French Payday Loans
I have always wondered about the payday loan markets across Europe. We all know that payday loans thrive in the UK and of course in the United States! In recent years, Australia and Canada have opened their doors to payday loans, but where does that leave everybody else? Are Euro payday loans available today? This was one of the my first questions and I thought that it would be a good idea to start with our nearby neighbours in France. As I'm aware, payday loans have not made their way over to France, but there are numerous credit solutions available and so let's take a little look at the basic ins and outs.
Credit a la consommation or credit consommation is translated to consumer credit. Another popular term is pret personnel which translates to personal loan. These popular terms are generally used by people in France that are looking for unsecured loans that usually range between three months and five years. There are a number of loan providers including the following: Cetelem, Cofidis, Conseil Financement, GE Money Bank, Mediatis, Monabanq and Sofinco. I have no experience in the specific loan products that these companies provide, but most of them are extremely popular and have a very high search volume over in France.
Credit auto (car credit) has a large search volume, but the term payday loan in France (pret sur salaire) has a pretty much non-existent search volume with Google. Overall, we can summarise that payday loans in France have no presence and there is no clear sign at this time that they will boom over there! As I have found out though, there is certainly a large demand and a large supply of loans over in France. From what I have seen, most of the lenders over in France do provide very competitive interest rates and perhaps it is the legal stand on APR rates that may be restricting the payday loan industry from taking off over in France. If things do change, I will certainly cover what needs to be covered in the future.
